The bread named ‘Farl’

Farl, also known as ‘Oven Bottoms’ is a type of bread which is typically baked at the bottom of the oven. As interesting and posh (or crude) as it sounds, it’s really just a round bread.

My little Elliot’s appetite has been growing and he has been consuming a lot of supermarket bread lately, a little too much I must say. So I decided that I would start baking homemade breads for him, once a week.

Have you ever tasted hand kneaded bread straight out from the oven?

Slightly chewy on the crust, pillowy soft on the inside, savoury, sometimes sweet, but always a hint of sourness, just a tiny little hint from the acid produced by the yeast. Curious?
